Music Unlimited Exclusive “Loving You” from Michael Jackson’s XSCAPE

Michael Jackson’s XSCAPE is coming to Music Unlimited on May 13. In anticipation of its arrival, Epic Records is giving their subscribers early access to five exclusive tracks from the album, which features contemporized versions of previously unheard work from the King of Pop’s vaults. They will stream a new song each day this week and reveal artwork for it right on the Sony Entertainment Network blog.

Today’s track is “Loving You.”

About the Song: A breezy, mid-tempo groove, “Loving You” was written and produced by Jackson. It was originally recorded at Red Wing Studio in the San Fernando Valley during the Bad sessions. “Sometimes he got a song idea and he just wanted to test it out before going to Westlake,” says Matt Forger, Jackson’s longtime recording engineer. “He’d sneak away to these smaller studios and it would just be a place where he could work and experiment and add different layers.” After his home studio was renovated, Jackson continued work on the track at Hayvenhurst. With its charming Motown-like vibe and effortless vocals, the song takes the listener back to an earlier era, offering another gem from one of the most prolific periods of Jackson’s career.
